Recently I had the opportunity to help produce a reading of the executive summaries of the Mueller Report for KVRU, which is a community radio station in South Seattle. I was given the chance to record and edit Volume 2 of the executive summaries in the studio at KVRU, which was read by former Mayor of Seattle Michael McGinn. We just posted this little radio show as a podcast so you can listen too! I also happened to design the cover art. :)

I’m calling this one “that feeling when someone completely mischaracterizes your position on an issue”, which is my favorite of Bernie’s expressions. I'm going to try to get into the habit of drawing more portraits of humans regularly.

I haven't posted anything in a while, so here's a new painting I just finished of a little dog named Gizmo who lives in San Francisco.

I just made a little animated music video in collaboration with the very talented Brian Callahan. This is a hypnotic and uneasy song. I tried to make visuals that would compliment the slow and melancholic pulse of the song's three movements. The visuals are inspired by Terry Gilliam of Monty Python and George Dunning, who animated Eleanor Rigby in Yellow Submarine (1968). Brian and I hope to make more videos in the coming months where I will conduct further experiments with animated collages.

I haven't posted in a while. I've been busy illustrating a children's book. In fact I just finished another book illustration job, and the author wanted me to include a black and white photo of myself. It's been a while since I drew a detailed self portrait, so I figured I might as well draw myself. I think I'll use this as my avatar on twitter, facebook, etc. I hope to post on this website more often in the coming month.

I got to meet these two in person at a dog park. It's rare that I get a chance to take my own reference photos, and I'm so glad I had the opportunity. Meeting them in person gave me a chance to understand their personalities and helped me make more authentic portraits. I think these may be two of my best dog portraits yet!

I did this painting for a friend of mine's boyfriend of his two late dogs. They were gracious enough to give me permission to post my painting of these little dogs named Cooper and Lena.
